Your files never leave your device

pdfcdf is built so that your documents stay yours. Here’s exactly how it works.

Everything runs in your browser

When you open a tool and add a file, it's read into your browser's memory and processed right there on your device. The result is handed straight back to you as a download.

Your files are never uploaded

There is no server that receives your documents. Because the work happens locally, your files never travel across the internet and are never stored anywhere.

No account, no tracking of your files

You don't sign up, and we don't attach your documents to any identity. There's nothing to leak because there's nothing collected.

Built on trusted open-source libraries

pdfcdf uses well-established, audited open-source projects — pdf-lib and pdf.js — to read and write PDFs entirely client-side.

Works everywhere, installs nothing

It's a normal website. There's no app, plugin or extension to install, and no background process running on your machine.

Security FAQ

Are my files really private?
Yes. Every v1 tool processes your document locally in your browser. Your file is never uploaded to a server, so no one — including us — can see it.
What happens to my file after I close the tab?
Nothing to clean up — your file only ever existed in your browser's memory. Closing the tab discards it. Nothing was stored server-side.
Is it safe for confidential or legal documents?
Because files never leave your device, pdfcdf is well-suited to sensitive documents. For legally-certified digital signatures specifically, use a dedicated certificate-based e-signature service.
